Micellar water

Invented by BIODERMA in 1995, micellar water has revolutionized the way we remove makeup and cleanse the skin. This breakthrough innovation combined effective cleansing, high tolerance and speed with a no-rinse formula that cleanses the skin in just one step.

BIODERMA's first micellar water, SENSIBIO H2O MICELLAR WATER, was formulated for sensitive skin. Since then, our micelle-based technology has been adapted to meet the needs of other skin types with SÉBIUM H2O MICELLAR WATER, HYDRABIO H2O MICELLAR WATER, PIGMENTBIO H2O MICELLAR WATER and ABCDERM H2O MICELLAR WATER.

FAQs

Micellar water is a water-based cleanser containing gentle cleansing agents called micelles. These micelles attract both oily and non-oily impurities and residues, which are transferred onto the cotton pad as you sweep it across your face and neck.

Micellar water can be used as a cleanser and makeup remover, both in the morning and evening, or at any time of day. It cleanses all skin types. Apply a small amount to a makeup remover pad and gently sweep it over your face, without rubbing, to remove impurities in one go. BIODERMA micellar water is non-rinsing, keeping your routine simple.

Micelles are gentle, soap-free cleansing agents in the form of tiny microspheres. Each one has a hydrophilic outer shell and a lipophilic core, which attract both oily and water-soluble particles like a magnet. This dual affinity makes micellar water highly effective at removing all types of impurities, including sebum, sweat, dead cells, pollution, and makeup.

BIODERMA's micellar water for sensitive, dehydrated, oily, and children's skin is formulated with highly purified water. However, our micellar technology can also be used with an oil base, as seen in Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Oil offering sensitive skin the comfort of a cleansing oil.

Micellar water cleanses and removes makeup quickly and effectively. BIODERMA micellar waters offer high tolerance, thanks to unique formulas adapted to the skin's needs, including those for oily, sensitive, dehydrated, and children's delicate skin.
